I love sound.
This is me. Loving sound.
Sort of an obvious statement, but I feel like there is a difference between accepting the noises around you and loving the sounds that make up your world. I particularly love the personal experience audio can have. Hearing a friendly voice on the phone, the quiet before a snow storm, or your favorite song coming on the radio by chance. Moments like these you can close your eyes and take in the experience. Happiness, energy, peace. Sound can give you so much without a visual attached.
I have always enjoyed field production because of the individual challenge each project presents. Weather in New England is unpredictable and having someone who is prepared is one less worry for the production and can help keep the crew moving. No two projects are the same, so the sound department must prepare for everything.
As a field mixer, it does not matter if you are shooting a quiet drama, talking-head interview, or a large scale action set piece, my ultimate goal is clean and usable audio for your project.
